Laurel Nessim has completed her diploma in Jazz Studies from Capilano University with a major in voice and a secondary in piano. She conducted her own choir, Canto Chords, from 2008-2010 and they went on to win silver at the 2010 Kiwanis choir festival. At Capilano University, Laurel was part of the Capilano University Singers Italy tour in May 2011. From September 2012 until April 2013, Laurel was part of NiteCap, Capilano University’s bigger vocal jazz ensemble. She is currently teaching privately in Abbotsford as well as performing in local band, Thistle Dew, throughout the Fraser Valley.
