Rebecca Sichon has been singing since the age of 5, constantly being involved with the musical aspects of her life. At the age of 8, she began to compete and not long after, she began learning Piano with the Royal Conservatory of Music which eventually led to the introduction of ukulele and guitar to help accompany herself. In 2011, at the age of 10, one of the four songs written by her and her sister was featured in a documentary called “Family Portrait in Black and White” which won the title “Best Canadian Documentary” at Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival and was nominitated for other awards at festivals including Sundance Film Festival. It was around the age of 12 when her passion for songwriting took off. In December 2016, she got the chance to record and release her first single called “Let Me Go”, being released on iTunes, Apple Music, Tidal, Spotify and much more. Since then, she has released another single called “Sail” on every social platform! In 2017, 2018 and 2019, she participated in Mission Secondary School’s Musical theatre productions of “Hairspray”, “Annie Jr” and “Grease” where Rebecca Sichon landed the main roles of Annie and Betty Rizzo. Since then, the 17 year old has been performing, releasing more music, competing, writing and of course, singing as much as she can. With nearly 60 self-written songs, her goals of a professional musical career is only beginning.
